how to help
For many species, it’s now or never.

Nature’s SAFE, one of Europe’s first Living Biobanks is on a mission to save animals from extinction. The charity partners with accredited UK zoos to collect tissue and reproductive samples from deceased or neutered endangered animals which are then processed and stored in an indefinitely cryopreserved, living state. This ground-breaking science means these samples, once defrosted, can be used to produce pregnancies to support vulnerable populations. The work is a critical piece of the conservation puzzle, providing a safeguard for animals the world is currently on track to lose.
The pioneering charity relies on public, private and corporate donations to fund their critical work and has recently signed an exciting new corporate partnership with the environmentally conscious i7 Technologies Ltd. based in Wrexham.
As a business committed to green goals and expanding their positive environmental reach, i7 Technologies are investing in wildlife by partnering with locally based charity Nature’s SAFE. Owner Steve Lewis said: ‘We are very excited to partner with Nature’s SAFE at such a critical time in their development, the aims and goals of the charity are so imperative that to be able to work together to bring awareness and funding to Nature’s SAFE is a real privilege’.
Fundraising and Marketing Officer, Allyson Walsh said “Nature’s SAFE is thrilled to be partnering with i7 Technologies to achieve our common aim of protecting biodiversity for the future.” Trustee Debbie Rolmanis said “i7 Technologies demonstrate exceptional environmental leadership for the tech industry and we are incredibly grateful to be working with them to expand our mutual impact’.
It costs around £100 to process one sample and financial support from i7 Technologies will enable Nature’s SAFE to add critically needed samples to the 85 species that are already safely stored.
Staff at i7 Technologies are getting fully engaged in the new partnership, and are even preparing to climb mountains to raise funds for Nature’s SAFE. This July, intrepid engineer Sean is planning a sponsored walk up Mount Snowdon to raise money for Nature’s SAFE. You can access his JustGiving page below and pledge sponsorship !
If you are feeling energetic and would like to join the walk to multiply funds raised – please do contact the Fundraising and Marketing Officer at Nature’s SAFE.
Human activity is causing the largest predicted loss of biodiversity in 65 million years, and time is running out to prevent catastrophic decline. As we move towards the attainment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, more companies are realising their responsibility to protect the environment and commercial partnerships with green charities like Nature’s SAFE are gaining momentum. The work of Nature’s SAFE, based in Whitchurch, Shropshire, is preserving our natural bio-heritage, and funds donated go towards safeguarding species from extinction.
